Sunflower Shadowbox
I painted the sunflowers for a friend, but did not have a frame that would work, so I decided to use the shadowbox. I painted the flowers on thick watercolor paper that I tore to get the ragged edges. The little vase is an old perfume bottle I filled with blue and green beads to get the look of marbles. I was excited to find a piece of broken clay pot that fit so perfectly. I put silk flowers in the piece of clay pot and the perfume bottle. I was not overly thrilled with my sunflowers, but I think everything put together looks pretty good. On the plus side, the perfume bottle had a little bit of perfume still in it before I cleaned it out, so everything smells as good as it looks.
